Dear Teen/ Young Adult,

It can be hard always being the “strong” friend. You’re always there for others and uplifting them with a BIG smile on your face while deep inside you are feeling weak, down, and lost.

It’s time to start taking care of yourself. We can be so into others and their lives while neglecting our very own. It’s okay to tell others “NO” while telling yourself “YES”.

It is time to put yourself first; this is the first step in being truly YOU. Counseling is the place where you can truly be you. Come and learn the skills of self care and what it takes to put YOU FIRST!

“You can’t pour from an empty cup, so PRIORITIZE YOU!”

Why I Became a Therapist

I became a clinician because I saw the impact that counselors had on their clients while they were going through the biggest emotions of their life. After seeing the confidence that each person got gained after speaking with their counselor, was something I wanted to be apart of as well.

What I Enjoy Most About Helping Clients

I enjoy seeing the growth in each client, from when they first began therapy to the point they are in now.

My Counseling Style

My counseling style is empathetic, collaborative, and tailored to each person’s unique needs. I primarily use a person-centered approach, which means I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, respected, and accepted. I believe you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to walk alongside you as you explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences. My approach is both nondirective and directive, depending on what you need in the moment. At times, I will provide space for you to process your thoughts and feelings at your own pace, listening with empathy and helping you gain insight. At other times, I take a more active role by asking thoughtful questions, teaching new skills, offering feedback, and/ or gently challenging unhelpful thought patterns to help you achieve your goals.
